So last weekend (a superbly sunny mid-October weekend) I decided to take part in what seems to be a Fall tradition for New Yorkers – I took a trip upstate for some apple picking!
Aside from being loads of fun, I’ve now got my hands on a half crate of apples and I have no idea what to do with them all.

An apple pie would simply not be enough to use up all my apples. In fact, I’d still have half of them left. I guess making two apple pies is an option (and really, who can’t get enough apple pie?) but experimenting with some creative apple ideas sounded more fun to me!
Here are 10 apple recipes I found that are sure to please everyone, and will assist in reducing an apple overload.

2. Caramel Apple Scones
This brings back memories of being at my Grandparents house and having traditional scones with jam and cream, in true British style! I guess I’d be ok with changing up the traditional recipe to this one by Recipe Girl which includes apples and caramel sauce. It does look good.

3. Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip with Apple Slices
Maybe it’s because I’m Australian and usually have dips as a savoury dish, so this recipe for apple slices and Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip by Oh Sweet Basil makes me simultaneously curious and weirded out. Still, I have to try it!

Ok now this is one of my family specialties! My mother makes an amazing apple crumble with custard (mental note – steal her recipe). 9. Homemade Apple Cider
I absolutely can’t wait to try this Homemade Apple Cider recipe by Gimme Some Oven on the weekend! Apparently it fills up your house with delicious smells. I live in a rather small apartment, so I hope that the smells will compact and make the air thick with vaporised apple cider. One can hope.

10. Apple Pie Punch
Speaking of combining awesome things, how about punch and pie? This combination sounds mouth-watering, but I can’t quite decide if it would better to have in winter or summer. Either way, you can find the recipe for Apple Pie Punch over at The Cookie Rookie.
